Mahashya Late Shri Tirath Ram ji was born in the Una District of Himachal Pradesh (at that time Punjab) on 29th December 1911. Right from the beginning, he was closely associated with the Freedom Struggle Movement of India and ably assisted Mahatma Gandhi, Dr J C Kumar Appa, Meera Bain and many more national leaders. He also assisted Mahatma Gandhi ji in running the Khadi & Handicraft, Honeybee, and Naturopathy Centres efficiently. After India got Independence in 1947, his whole life was totally devoted to uplifting the down-trodden, the poor, and the needy people. His main emphasis was to teach the young rural people to get education, work in fields to produce fruits, vegetables, and other crops along with opening Honeybee Centres. For his selfless services to Mankind, he was bestowed with the prestigious 'Jamnalal Bajaj' award. His life was full of compassion. He was kind-hearted, simple, ever smiling, and always ready to help the needy. He always preferred to walk 'on-foot', even for the long distances. A true Gandhian, a true Naturopath, and a true human being, he remained healthy even after attaining the age of 98 years. He breathed his last on 20th March 2007 and we lost a Saint, one of the founding members who worked ceaselessly with the late Dr Hira Lal ji and late Shri N S Adhikari ji to take Naturopathy and Yoga to all corners of India and abroad.
