Dr N.S.Adhikari

Dr N.S. Adhikari, born on 22nd September 1944, is a dedicated proponent of Gandhian philosophy and an ardent follower of Acharya Vinoba Bhave. Graduating from Banaras Hindu University, he embraced the principles of simple living and high thinking that were central to Gandhiji's teachings. Dr Adhikari's commitment led him to actively participate in the Bhoodan Andolan, where he joined Acharya Vinoba Bhave's group, leaving a lasting impact on his life.

Deeply inspired by Vinoba Bhave Ji, considered the spiritual successor of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr Adhikari played a significant role in spreading the message of the great leader. His involvement in padyatras, traversing remote villages, and encouraging communities to join the SM movement showcased his unwavering dedication. Recognized for his contributions, he received appreciation from the President of India and was a key participant in Gandhiji's centenary celebration in 1969.


Immersing himself in the Gandhian way of life, Dr Adhikari spent considerable time at Sevagram Ashram in Wardha. This experience fueled his commitment to the ideology of simple living and high thinking, instilling in him the practical application of Gandhian philosophy in his daily life.

In the course of his social work, Dr. Adhikari connected with esteemed individuals such as Dr Hiralal Ji and Mahashaya Tirathramji, a renowned social worker and freedom fighter. Mahatma Gandhi's advocacy for Naturopathy as an easily adaptable system in Indian circumstances resonated with Dr Adhikari. This natural and accessible science gained prominence, thanks to the efforts of Dr Hiralal Ji and Mahashaya Tirathramji.

Under the guidance of these great philosophers, a new organization emerged in 1977 - The International Foundation of Natural Health and Yoga (IFNHY). Driven by the mission to serve mankind and promote a natural way of living, IFNHY became a beacon for those seeking holistic well-being.
